Jessie Burnie

MSW, RSW

Provides services in Perth, and virtually

Jessie supports kids, teens, young adults, and families navigating the hard stuff — the messy, overwhelming, and often heartbreaking moments when things feel like they’re falling apart.

If your child is acting out, shutting down, stuck in anxiety, or overwhelmed by emotions they can’t explain — she’s here for that. If you’re a parent running on empty, walking on eggshells, or unsure how to help — she’s here for that too.

With over a decade of experience, Jessie offers focused, client-centered support rooted in evidence-based therapies like CBT and DBT, along with mindfulness, play, and creativity. That means she doesn’t just look at behaviours — she looks at what’s underneath them. Jessie brings a calm, steady presence to heavy moments — the kind of warm, compassionate support that makes it safe to talk about the hard stuff. She believes in building trust, uncovering patterns, and helping people reconnect to themselves.

Whether it’s self-harm, suicidal thoughts, low self-esteem, big emotions, or feeling completely lost — Jessie walks alongside people with kindness and clarity. She also supports families navigating 2SLGBTQI+ identities, foster and adoption journeys, and complicated family dynamics.

A Note for Parents/Guardians

You’re doing the best you can — and still, it might feel like nothing’s working. Maybe you’re watching your child spiral and don’t know how to reach them. Maybe you’re carrying the weight of guilt, fear, or frustration, and wondering if you’ve missed something. You’re not alone.

Jessie works in partnership with families — keeping you involved and informed — so your child doesn’t have to carry their pain alone, and you don’t have to feel like you’re navigating it in the dark. Jessie will help you understand what’s going on beneath the surface, build stronger connections, and give you real tools to support your family’s mental health.

Off the Clock

When she’s not in session, Jessie is a mom to two young kids — which means she knows firsthand how loud, beautiful, and exhausting family life can be. She’s still learning how to carve out space for herself (aren’t we all?), but when she does, you’ll usually find her running a local race, dancing in the kitchen, getting lost in a good book, or spending time outdoors — hiking, kayaking, or just soaking in the fresh air.
