Jessie Burnie, MSW, RSW, is a registered social worker who provides clinical counselling and psychotherapy services. Jessie specializes in working with children, youth, families, and young adults.

Jessie is passionate about walking alongside children and youth, in partnership with their families, to guide them as they learn about, work through, and grow from their traumas and mental health challenges.

Jessie works from an eclectic mix of evidence-based and client-centered therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectic Behaviour Therapy, and she incorporates mindfulness and play-based activities into her sessions. Jessie also brings an attachment lens to much of her work to better understand the complexities of family dynamics, trauma, identify, self-esteem, and our overall mental health.

Jessie has over 10 years of experience working with individuals and families on a variety of themes, including anxiety, depression, grief/loss, self harm behaviours, suicidal ideation, self-esteem, identity, 2SLGBTQI+, and foster/adoption.

Jessie’s approach is influenced by years of working within systems that put people into rigid boxes and does not allow for flexibility, and relationship. Jessie’s approach is one of empathy, care, warmth, and genuineness.
