Lauren Matheson

MA, Registered Psychotherapist, Canadian Certified Counsellor

Provides services virtually

Lauren has been part of the psychotherapy team at Aruma since 2019. She believes that while we all manage daily life the best we can, everyone benefits from support at times. Whether you’re building coping skills or exploring life patterns, Lauren sees therapy as a space for meaningful change- and she’s witnessed that transformation firsthand.

Her approach is flexible and shaped by your needs. She draws from advanced training in Psychodynamic and Systemic therapies, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). She is also fully trained in EMDR, a research-backed treatment for symptoms related to trauma.

Lauren works with individuals navigating a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, grief, and ADHD. She helps clients better understand their emotional experiences, build practical tools for daily life, and move toward a greater sense of well-being and self-compassion.

In addition to her Master’s degree, Lauren holds a Graduate Diploma in Couple Counselling and Spirituality. She is an Associate Member of the Canadian Association for Marriage & Family Therapy, with a special interest in couples, families, siblings, and parent-child relationships.

Lauren offers virtual therapy by secure video or phone. Many clients find this a convenient and effective way to connect. Reach out if you’d like to learn more or explore whether working with Lauren is right for you.
