Veronica is a Registered Social Worker & Psychotherapist (MSW from Wilfrid Laurier University) and is currently completing her Doctorate degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy from Yorkville University. She has been providing counselling and psychotherapy services for over 20 years.
She works with individuals of various ages and backgrounds and specializes with individuals with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, ADHD symptoms, domestic violence, working professionals with struggles in the workplace, those who may be resistance to change and she also works with couples to strengthen their relationship or overcome damaging incidents.
Veronica strives to foster independence from her clients and provide the tools to help them be sustainable on their own. In the interim, she provides between session support via email and text, to foster accountability.
Veronica has a particular passion towards fostering resiliency and empowerment so the effects of counselling are long-standing and sustainable. She has delivered national and international workshops on this topic and has an innate ability to connect with people and help them realize their potential to lead a fulfilling and happy life.
Veronica is certified in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and is also an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP). She is a member of Family Mediation Canada and has much experience in handling high-conflict situations, involving separation, divorce, parenting arrangements, caregiving for parents who can no longer live alone or manage their own finances, step-parenting, conflict between siblings and/or their parents, disputes regarding inheritances/wills, lifestyle change choices upon retirement, exercising decisions under a signed Power of Attorney, disagreements between in-laws polarizing family dynamics, disagreement regarding theory/practice of raising & educating children, power imbalance/abuse/neglect in executing end of life decisions [personal directives, Medical Assistance in Dying (MaiD)], and cultural differences (generational, ethnic, gender, etc).
